Caroline graduated with a postgraduate degree in Classical music in 2001 (Philippe Graffin, Peter Thomas) from the Birmingham Conservatoire.
Since finishing her tango music studies with Gustavo Beytelmann and Juan Jose Mosalini in Paris and Holland with a scholarship from the Leverhulme Trust, Caroline has toured as a freelance violinist in France, Belgium, Holland, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Algeria, Australia and England playing in festivals (Nice Jazz Festival, Oslo World Music Festival, Le Printemps de Bourges, Norfolk and Norwich Festival..) concert halls (Concertgebouw, Royal Albert Hall Ignite Series, Alhambra, La Maroquinerie, Divan du Monde) and on Radio France, Radio 4 Holland and Classic FM. Having a keen interest in contemporary music has led to performances with the ensembles Ars Nova, Multilaterale and Alma Viva (with Pablo Marquez).
Her tango music experience now comprises performances with the Grand Tango Orchestra of Juan Jose Mosalini, Orquesta Tipica Imperial, Daniel Melingo, Septeto La Academia, Mala Pinta, the Conjunto Negracha of William Sabatier, the show Tango Ivresse, La Strapata, Quintet El Despues, Cuarteto Gancedo, Amelitar Baltar, and La Chicana. In 2006 she went to Buenos Aires with the help of the Stephen Arlen Memorial Award and took lessons with violinists Pablo Agri, Ramiro Gallo, Mauricio Marcelli and Leonardo Ferreyra.
2008 saw her debut with Lenni Jabour canadian singer-songwriter , and her own group the Firebyrd String Quartet. She has joined Les Fleurs Noires as their new viola player with tours in France, Oman and Holland. Her string quartet is currently working with Eduardo Garcia (Tanguisimo) on a contemporary tango repertoire written for string quartet and bandoneon.
Her interest in middle eastern music has led to her working with Iranian composer Esfandiar Monfaredzadeh and Najwa Karam “Shams”.
Having dreamed of creating an English tango orchestra for several years 2009 founded the first steps towards realising this exciting project!
